Artist’s Statement
They milk their cows while the women remain starving. The little girls have no chance of survival if we keep sowing the fields this way. We continue to fight to stop the flow but we are constantly falling into the buckets.
They milk their cows while the women scream. The fruit is small and miserably inadequate. The women scream. We are now with child. The child drinks the milk from the closed shapes. The little girls taste the bad egg while crying. They do not want to eat but are starving.
We continue to fight to stop the flow but we are constantly falling into the buckets.
Milk the Cow.
My artwork and artist statement serves as a direct response to the current state of the world—specifically, the treatment of women and the systematic removal of our fundamental rights. My work addresses the stark disparity in reproductive agency: the fact that men have medicine to spread their sperm, while we are denied a shield.
My statement, "Milk the Cow," explores themes of survival and the struggle to "stop the flow" while falling into the buckets of a system that leaves women and girls starving. This new body of work builds upon that foundation, capturing the urgency of this moment and the fire currently felt by so many.
